Why Wear a Wetsuit?

① WARMTH: Wearing a wetsuit will allow you to stay warmer for longer
② BUOYANCY: It will definitely ensure you extra buoyancy, helping you float.
③ PROTECTION: Protect divers from injury by reef or flora and fauna

What to Wear Under Your Wetsuit

Swimwear

The main reasons for wearing swimsuits underneath wetsuits:

① Hygiene: The wetsuit is very close-fitting and airtight, so an extra layer of clothing protects the skin from unwanted rash breakouts from friction, sweat, etc.

② Prevention of seasickness: Wearing close-fitted wetsuits for long hours on the boat could result in stuffiness and seasickness. Therefore, having a swimsuit underneath is convenient if it is necessary to take off the wetsuit. It is also recommended to wear wetsuits up to waist level in case of stuffiness and seasickness. This promotes easier breathing and relaxation. The wetsuits must be zipped all the way up before entering the water.

③ Jellyfish and sunburn protection: Long-sleeved inners/swimsuits provide protection from jellyfish stings and sunburns.

What kind of swimwear is recommended for a wetsuit?

Female

monokini, bikini/quick-drying sports bra, long-sleeved inners (for sun/jellyfish protection)

Male

Quick-dry shorts/ surf shorts/ beach shorts/ swimming trunks, long-sleeved inners (for sun/jellyfish protection)

Snorkelers have a higher probability of sun exposure for long hours. A long-sleeved inner is recommended for those who choose to wear only a life jacket instead of a wetsuit while snorkeling. This ensures protection from sunburns as well as jellyfish stings.

Step-by-step preparation

【Before departure】

① Wear a swimsuit (put it on underneath usual clothing before arriving at the store)
② Wear a wetsuit (after the reception in the store, collect the wetsuit and check the fitting. Then put it on over the swimsuit. Wearing it up to waist level is okay.)
③ Wear slippers

【After arriving at the dive site】

① Wear a diving suit all the way up and zip up the back
② Put on all the equipments with the help of our staff
③ Wear your mask as instructed by your guide
④ Wear gloves (optional) and Flippers

What else do I need to bring besides swimwear ?

Our Introductory Diving and Snorkeling tours are usually boat tours (unless the sea conditions are rough, in which case we move our tour to a beach).
So it is recommended that you bring:
・Wear non-slip slippers that are easier to put on and take off for easy movement on board.
・Those who are prone to seasickness or are unsure about it should take seasickness medicine before departure to avoid physical discomfort after boarding.
